Age Management – Full Body Approach

At Image Aesthetics we know there is more to age management than just skincare.

Welcome to a full body approach.

This  new approach redefines the aging process as one that can be rectified primarily with antioxidants and hormone repletion. In the human body, growth hormone secretion declines a substantial 75% from age 20 to age 60 along with plummeting levels of DHEA and free testosterone. The net results may be fatigue, low stamina, and a drop in bone density and muscle mass. The skin, being the largest organ in the body, is also targeted in the process, becomes thinner with less connective tissue support, resulting in wrinkles, age spots and dry skin.

We recognize that successful age management therapies require proper nutrition, vitamin supplements and exercise. But, we do not exclude the traditional approach either.

AGE MANAGEMNT
“Age Management” is the generic term for in-depth personalized health programs (often using bioidentical hormones and both traditional and alternative therapies) being offered by a few physicians around the country.

The approach is purposely not called “Anti-Aging”. The goal is to not increase longevity, but rather improve function, appearance, mood, health as one ages. Granted there may be benefits in terms of life span if one watches certain concerns on a day-today basis. In fact, there is evidence that the modalities utilized, can be a boon to preventing or delaying such conditions as diabetes, obesity, dementia, stroke, cardiac disease, depression and sexual difficulties among others, in men and women. Aspects of appearance such as skin tone and thickness, lean body mass and decreased body fat percentage often improve as well.

Age Management seems to appeal largely to already healthy, highly motivated individuals who desire to go to the “next step” in wellness and disease prevention, and desire a more rigorous regime under medical supervision.

There is an increasing interest in all anti-aging in the U.S. with various claims made by practitioners about their products. But the term “anti-aging” is misleading, as there is no effective method available to back the clock. It may be feasible, however, to slow it down.

SKIN CARE TIPS
-Use microdermabarsion creams
It improves blood circulation and decreases puffiness. An added benefit is that the gentle pressure is calming to the nervous system.

-Rev Up Your Digestion
Good skin is a reflection of a good digestive system. The two most common sluggish digestion culprits are: not enough water and not enough fibre.

Some suggestions:
1.    Add Whole Grains
2.    An Apple a Day
3.    Eat Cauliflower
4.    High-fiber snacks - Snack on nuts, seeds, and dried fruit, such as dates, figs, and prunes.
5.    Eat Beans and Legumes -
6.    Ground Flaxseeds - For any easy fiber boost, sprinkle ground flaxseeds (available at health food stores) on rice, salads, oatmeal, or any other meal.

-Invigorate Sluggish Circulation

Here are some quick suggestions:

•    Take a break and walk around the block.
•    Book a massage therapy appointment.
•    Close your door and stretch.

•    Go to the gym.

-Avoid Excess Sugar

-Eat Some Good Fats
Here are my suggestions on getting more essential fats:

•    Flaxseed and walnut oil - Use flaxeed oil or walnut oil with balsamic vinegar as a salad dressing.
•    Cold water fish
•    Consider fish oil supplements.

We are ready to change your lifestyle, to make you beautiful, internally and externally and make a difference with your presence anywhere and everywhere. Image-Aesthetics is a one-stop beauty and lifestyle solution.
